Christ's Ambassadors

Recently the VGR office in Timişoara, Romania hosted a New Years banquet and service for their youth group. They had 35 young brothers and sisters from their local church and a few from Spain, Greece, Germany, and Austria. They got together to spend the last day of 2007, and the first day of the new year in unity. It was a time set aside for worship and Christian fellowship. Here we have a report and some pictures of the event from Brother and Sister Muntean, VGR Romania office.
We had already used the youth from our local church, located in Timişoara, for our gatherings on different occasions; like Easter Day or last summer's vacation day. So we invited them also for the last day of 2007. This was a huge premiere, so it was a welcomed surprise for our young people. We organized everything like they would for a Nobel Banquet, getting all our resources together. The girls competed in cooking and dressing plates with various Romanian recipes. Everyone could bring whatever they liked to eat at our "Special Meeting" for the last day of the year.
…And us…the host at the VGR office, we gave all the best to make everything nice and to receive them in a very good and elegant atmosphere for this special day. When they arrived at the hour we scheduled for our meeting, the atmosphere came on so warm. We felt such a sweet presence making us feel so good with one another. We really could feel the spirit of unity among us.
In this time spent together, we shared our experiences with the Lord Jesus Christ, and we sang songs. The best moment was just after midnight, when we passed 2007 to 2008 in a moment of prayer, when a young brother came and said:
“My brothers please pray for me for the very next moments, because I have in my heart to share with you my testimony of how the Lord changed my heart. I feel to do that, and I never had the courage to speak out …”
He told us how the Lord touched his heart. And one thing is so sure, that so many of our hearts were also deeply touched by his testimony.
All this time spent together made us to become even closer friends. We decided to be united in this year, and to be Christ’s ambassadors on this earth till He comes to take us home!
