A Rose For His Heavenly Garden
Wednesday, January 16, 2008
Earlier this month Young Foundations posted an article about “Young Believers in Cape town.” We had several pictures on the page of those who helped in the day of work set aside for the Lord. We were recently informed that one of the sisters who aided in this project was killed in a car accident. The sister who was killed in the accident is Sister Gernique Pretorious. She is the sister standing in the second picture on the web article counting Message books. She was only twenty-two years old and had just gotten married three months to the day of the accident.

Sister Gernique Pretorious
Brother Terence Pretorious and his wife, Sister Gernique, were accompanied by another brother and sister in their car. While they were traveling down a mountain pass near their home town of Atlantis, a truck with a trailer was coming from the opposite direction. The trailer got too close to their vehicle and caused them to swerve and loose control. The car rolled off the mountain, and Sister Gernique and the other sister were flung from the car. Sadly we say, Sister Gernique was killed instantly, and the other sister suffered a very serious head injury. She is currently recovering in an Intensive Care Unit. Brother Terence and the other brother miraculously survived with minor injuries.
Please keep these families in prayer. We know that it must be hard to bear the loss of a loved one. We must remember that at any time God could choose to take us from this earth. It was His time to take our sister off the scene. It could have been that God needed another rose for His Heavenly garden. We want to hold Brother Terence up in prayer; that God will give him comfort and strength during these difficult times.
