February 24, 1956

Did you ever wonder what a person was worth when broken down into the basic elemental and mineral form of the human body? Not the clothes on your back, the shoes on your feet, the car you drive, the house you live in, or all your assets, but the body you dwell in.

Eighty-four cents! That’s right, eighty-four cents. At least that is what a man was worth when Brother Branham preached this message. Chemicals can be more easily obtained and at a lesser cost now. And with the rising inflation of over 600% since 1956, well… we are still worth less than a dollar. Our dollar today would only be worth about $0.13 in the mid 50’s. So from now to back when Brother Branham was here, we’ve somewhat depreciated in value.

We must realize that possessing all of the material things of this world is going to gain us nothing in the end. Though possessions may bring satisfaction to the carnal mind and popularity with people of this world, we must remember that we are not of this world, but of a heavenly Kingdom. We must separate ourselves and completely surrender our heart and soul to God. There is no dwelling place in God's great Kingdom that can be obtained by the wealth and luxuries offered here. When it comes down to the end, we all must pass from this earth. That is when our eternal destination will be determined; not by our possessions or our good deeds, but by the choice we made of whether to serve Him or not. Brother Branham put it like this:

Taking care of that eighty-four cents... That's right. That's all your body's worth. But you got a soul that's worth ten million worlds. What about that? Amen. What about that soul? You'll certainly take care of the eight-four cents, but what about the soul that's worth ten thousand worlds? What about that? E-44 Brother, it behooves you to consecrate your life to Jesus Christ, walk after Him, love Him, make ready for His coming.56-0224 – Jehovah Jireh

Brother Branham wanted to take the time during this message to break down the chemicals of the body to prove that your body’s not born again and can't go in the resurrection if your soul’s not born again. So here we have given you a little insight to what your body is made of. Just remember that it is what's in our heart and soul that makes us who and what we are: sons and daughters of God.

Molecules

Our bodies are primarily made up of water, H2O, with cells consisting of 65-90% water by weight. Therefore most of the human body’s mass is oxygen. Secondly, carbon is the basic unit for our organic molecules. In all, 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of only six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. According to the U.S. Bureau of Chemistry and Soils, the chemical and mineral composition of the average human body breaks down as follows:

  • Oxygen- 65%
  • Carbon- 18%
  • Hydrogen- 10%
  • Nitrogen- 3%
  • Calcium- 1.5%
  • Phosphorous- 1%
  • Potassium- 0.35%
  • Sulfur- 0.25%
  • Sodium- 0.15%
  • Chlorine- 0.15%
  • Magnesium- 0.05%
  • Copper, Zinc, Selenium, Molybdenum, Fluorine, Chlorine, Iodine, Manganese, Cobalt, Iron (0.70%)
  • Lithium, Strontium, Aluminum, Silicon, Lead, Vanadium, Arsenic, Bromine (trace amounts)
  • -Here are a few of the elements Brother Branham tells of being in the body that are mixtures of some of the above elements-
  • -Potash, Any of several compounds containing potassium; ex. potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide
  • -Petroleum, A mixture of various hydrocarbons (hydrogen+carbon)

The amount of all the above elements which make up the human body comes to a total of less than one dollar.
