Feedback

We appreciate all those who sent feedback concerning the Halloween blog we posted on our Young Foundations site recently. We received a great number of remarks from believers that never knew the real spirit behind Halloween. Many stated that year after year they celebrated the holiday by dressing up in evil costumes, thinking it was just a time to have “innocent fun” with their friends and family. Brother Branham said:

Now, if you wanted to see what anything is, look where it come from. Trace it back down to the seed. 61-0209 – Jehovah Jireh
As described in the YF blog article, we know this holiday is derived from a tradition that is certainly not becoming to a Christian.

Below we have posted a few of the feedback reports we received, some which expressed gratitude to our Young Foundations Department, as well as two that were critical towards the article. We would especially like to respond to the critical comments, and explain more clearly what our true motive was.

Feedback One

After seeing we realized we as parents did know the origins. My four year old said we should throw the witch costume in the trash. She really got the point. Thank you for this info. This has changed our plans for Halloween for good!

Feedback Two

What a great learning tool. This video clip is an awesome visual reinforcement of the things we parents teach our children at home. And the historical aspect is eye-opening. I have never taken the time to research Halloween before. These reminders help keep us on our toes and aware of Satan's tactics to trap Christians into paying tribute to him...even unknowingly!

Feedback Three

Too Preachy--- Let the kids have good clean fun and collect a little candy. Carving a pumpkin with a smiley face is not wrong. Letting the kids dress up as a Disney character is not wrong. I think you are forcing the kids to be bible characters and strongly suggesting they be missionaries at this season. There is a time and a season for everything. Did your parents ever go trick or treating? Dress up and act silly? Did your parents ever have a Halloween party? I know of a few in the message that has done this. There are many holidays we all honor no matter what we believe, Christmas, Martin Luther King Day. Can we have a Tree at Christmas time? So there are a lot of views on honoring these days.
Dear writer, we understand what you are saying, but we wanted to help expose where the Halloween tradition came from, then leave it up to the young adults and parents (if they too read the article) to judge for themselves whether to celebrate this holiday or not. We certainly cannot endorse observing this holiday in any way, but it is of course at the discretion of the individual or family. Young Foundations Department

Message: May God grant grace and make you stop this foolishness!!! Brother Branham, I mean the prophet of our age, would never have celebrated with the world this crazy idea. Please show me where did he speak about holloween, and that we should have any part of it. Shame on you!!!!
Dear writer, we certainly feel you are RIGHT in what you are saying. The purpose of the article, however, is not to celebrate Halloween with the world, but to inform those who DO celebrate Halloween where it originated from. We are not trying to create a “Christian version” of Halloween as a spin-off of the original tradition. We feel dressing up like Bible characters does not have to be on Halloween, but it can be any time of the year. Young Foundations Department
