God's covenant with Abraham and His Seed

February 23, 1956 A covenant! What is a covenant?

We know that God made a covenant with Abraham, that he would be a father of many nations. We know that God made a covenant with Noah and to every living creature that He would never again destroy the earth by a flood. Throughout all Bible history, God has made covenants with man, and man covenants to God and to one another; whether it be through the simple exchanging of words, the appearing of a symbolizing rainbow, or through that of an atoning sin offering.

Though covenants upon covenants had been made by man to God, there was never a sacrifice that completely abolished sin from man. Continually man had to make sin offerings before God to atone for their wrongs. Never was there a perfect sacrifice that could stand for all of man kind throughout all of time. Until one day, that day on Calvary. God made the covenant of all covenants. The perfect sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. When Christ died and then ascended on high, He sent back to man the Holy Ghost to dwell and live in our hearts.

Back to the beginning question; what is a covenant?

Covenant:
And the Holy Ghost that was in Christ came out of Him, God tore it away from Him at Calvary, and took the body upon high, and sent the Holy Ghost back here on earth. And the only way that covenant will ever be confirmed, when we've got the same baptism of the Holy Ghost that Jesus had. It'll have to dovetail with Pentecost. Hallelujah. That's the covenant of the living God.
