Everyone will see you Monday, September 17, 2007

I wanted to share this testimony today to encourage other young believers. Also, I am in expectation to hear a good report back.

I, along with many other youth, started back to class this week. It happened in my first class, as all the students were coming in and preparing for the teacher to speak. A woman behind me spoke up quickly and asked the teacher if there was a nurse’s station on campus, as she was not feeling well, and said she felt like she would pass out at any moment. The teacher responded and told her there was not a nurse’s station, but said he would call the campus police, as they were trained for this type of situation.

I had never seen or met this woman before, but I immediately had compassion for the poor woman. She was shaking, and I could tell by her voice and her actions that she was very frightened and afraid. At first, I was not sure what to do. She said her heart was racing and she felt very weak and faint and her hands were numb. I do not know much about medical conditions, but it seemed like a very serious situation.

My first thought was, "I should offer to pray for her," and quickly the next one was, "Oh but everyone will see you." It was on my heart to lay my hand on her and pray for her, but I was fighting that spirit of unbelief (especially the one found in schools). As I was trying to decide what to do, I heard her asking for those who prayed to pray for her. That did it for me, which was just the encouragement I needed!

I immediately turned around and asked her if I could lay my hand on her to pray for her. She quickly agreed, so I laid my hand on her shoulder and prayed for the Lord Jesus to heal her. As I prayed, I could feel His presence come down and I knew I had done the right thing. Later I learned her name was Maggie, and shortly after I prayed for her the paramedic came in and took her out of the class and likely to the hospital. I do not know how serious her situation was, or the outcome, but I know that our Lord Jesus is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever!

I know this is a familiar battle many of us face every day. Brother Branham talked about the greatest battle ever fought being in the mind. I regret that I did not immediately offer to pray for her, and hope that reading this will encourage you not to be as hesitant as I first was, but to be bold before all and do as the Lord is leading you.
