"GONE FISHIN"
A short time ago we told you of young Brother Benjamin Buitenkamps beginning journey to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in his own personal CTV vehicle. Inspired by the missionary life of his father, little Benjamin always dreamed to one day follow in his daddy’s footsteps, spreading this Message to the uttermost parts of the earth. This dream that once looked like a lifetime away was brought closer to reality when he and his dad built his first truck and trailer to carry the precious cargo, containing the Message of the hour, to those in his home town. But this was just an imitation of what his daddy, Brother Gerald Buitenkamp, was doing. He knew there was more out there than just those in his home town who needed this life giving Message brought before their eyes.
Only three weeks ago, Benjamin, along with his father, mother, and two brothers, had the opportunity to not only ride around in his mini CTV truck, but to walk the streets and fishing coast of a foreign city. He become a true fisher of men as he faithfully passed out food of eternal life, placing this Word within reaching distance of whosoever will.
Initially Brother Buitenkamp, his wife, and upcoming generation of missionary boys had intended on traveling some of the city streets and coast in the countries of Slovenia and Croatia with their full size CTV truck and trailer. As they entered into the streets of certain cities, they realized their truck would not fit through the tiny city streets, which were barely large enough to fit a small car through. With a mission in site, they were not about to let small streets be the end of their journey. The family parked the truck, pulled out their backpacks, and filled them up to capacity with Message books and enough water to keep them hydrated. Mom and Dad Buitenkamp went one way, and the three boys went another. Down the city streets and coast they walked, handing out "this gift from America" to whosoever God placed in their paths. They placed the Message books into the hands of fishermen, carpenters, shop keepers, and to people on the streets and markets. They handed them to school going young people, left them on park benches and staircases, and anywhere a seed might be planted.
Many responded with joy as they gladly received "this gift from America," and many responded not at all. But nonetheless, these young soldiers played their role and planted the Words of eternal life within reach of the people, as is our commandment from God to do.
What will your testimony be on that day? Will you be a soldier of the cross, or will you stand by and watch as thousands every day lose that opportunity you could have offered them? Brother Branham said,
"And I believe that every man, every woman, every boy or girl that ever stays long enough that you're convinced that it is right, and it is the Holy Ghost, you're burdened so hard in your heart that you can't stand still and let these people die like this in shame and sin. It'll grind the very heart out of you to get out
here on these streets."
