Christopher Columbus

Another holiday is now here, and the people of the United States are giving remembrance and honor to one of the worlds great explorers.
Christopher Columbus is a famous man that Brother Branham spoke of. He had a lot of respect for Columbus, who was a man of great vision. Columbus had envisioned a journey few had dared to make in all of history. He was determined to prove that the world was round and not flat. A new passage was needed for coastal ship trading and it gave him an opportunity to sail past the horizon of the vast, endless oceans and live his dream. This vision led him to the America we live in today.
Through all the obstacles and criticism that Columbus faced during his preparation and throughout his journey, he never failed to keep pressing on toward the vision he had in his heart. Even though there was little hope and evidence to support his ideas and mission, he never gave up. While sailing across the mighty ocean, there were many times when all hope seemed to be gone of ever seeing land again. But Columbus would keep pressing into the minds of his doubting shipmates to sail on. That is why his vision became real. He never stopped to let the doubters destroy his dream.
This story reminds us of the criticism and mockery we get from the world today. We must be like Columbus and have a vision and hold to that vision. We must encourage one another in our walk with Lord. Though we may not be discovering new countries or making a place for our names in this worlds history, we are pressing toward a much higher mark; “the mark of the high calling of God.”
So this Columbus Day, when you see all the banners and memorials of the great journey and accomplishments this man made, remember the man, Christ Jesus, who took the journey to Calvary’s Hill and died on the cruel cross to make us free. And not only did He make us free, but He sent down His Sweet Holy Spirit to guide us through our journey until we reach our destination of Glory. Truly we are more blessed than all the world. So Sail on little eagles, sail on, and put your trust into the hands of the One who will never fail you.
