Decisions

>God gave each of us the power to make our own decisions in life. Whether the decision is what clothes to wear or which person to marry, every decision we make today will affect us tomorrow.
>Brother Branham said:
“Now, that's what we do. Sometimes we go off on a tantrum somewhere and not think about God, not pray over it, ask the Lord whether we should do it or not, and we find out that our supply of blessings is cut off. Then we wonder sometime, "Well, wonder why I can't have no more blessings." You don't watch, you let down in your prayer life. You say, "Well, I'm a Christian." Well, that's the more sign you should pray, more than ever. Read the Bible every day. Pray every day. Don't make any decisions too harshly or too quickly, without first considering God about it. Ask Him, "Shall I do this, Father?" Ask Him, "Is it Your will for me to do this?" Then see what the Holy Spirit will speak to you. He might not give you a vision, but He will speak in some way to you, to let you know, if you'll be sincere and ask Him.” THE PROPHET ELISHA 54-0723
>As young believers, these decisions seem even more important. What music should I listen to? Poor choices in music could fill us with a spirit from the enemy. Who should I chose as my friends? Brother Branham told us “Show me your company, I will tell you who you are.” Should I go on a date with this person? If we marry the wrong person, our lives will be forever ruined.
>There was once a young man who was given a choice. He was a very handsome young man. He had a personality that everyone loved. He was wealthy. He lived a good “Christian” life. He was respected by his friends and the community. He was admired by just about everyone that met him. And, he was loved by the Lord Jesus. What more could he ask for?
>One day he was given the opportunity to have so much more than he ever imagined. That was the day he met the Lord Jesus. The young man saw a quality in Jesus that was different than anyone he had ever met. Oh, how he wanted to meet Jesus! He saw his opportunity and ran to Jesus’ side. He did the right thing when he asked the Lord what he could do to receive eternal life.
>The Lord’s answer surprised him. “Go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.” He loved his status as a great man. He loved his wealth. Would he give up his riches to live with these few people that had no wealth, no respect, not even a place to sleep for the night? The young man was sorry he ever asked the question. We are all familiar with the choice he made. He continued to prosper until he was one of the richest men in the land. Yet, his soul was forever lost, and soon he would be in torment.
>Even the most insignificant decision can forever change our lives. The key to making a decision is to get our own desires out of the way, and let the Lord Jesus lead us in our decisions, no matter what we may need to give up. How do we find the Will of the Lord? How do we make the right decisions? Prayer.
