Tuscon Tabernacle
(1965)

By 1965 there were a number of families who had moved to Tucson, Arizona, since Brother Branham was living there. Although he had spoken at the Ramada Inn for the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International and at two Assembly of God Churches in Tucson (Central and Grantway) there was no church in that city that followed Brother Branham’s Message or that opened their doors to him to preach.

Concerned for these families, especially their young people, Brother Branham longed to see a church start in Tucson for them to attend. He took some other brethren to look at buildings that could be rented, including a wrestling arena, but nothing materialized.

In 1965, Brother Pearry Green moved to Tucson from Texas and held several services at the Hellenic Center. When the Downtown Assembly of God Church on South Stone Avenue closed, that building, the old Temple Emanu-El, a Jewish Synagogue built in 1910, became available. Brother Green rented it, renaming it Tucson Tabernacle. Brother Branham spoke twice at this building. This Message, one of the shortest Messages that he brought, lasts only 27 minutes.
